Christmas Shopping
I went Christmas shopping today. I went to a local Walmart store. I could not believe my eyes. I mean the parking lot was packed, people were being rude to each other and it took us fifteen minutes to find a parking space. I went to the site to store place first. I had ordered my big ticket items site to store so I would not have to pay shipping. I had a fifty dollar gift card to use so I bought some food, wrapping paper, a card, and some other items. I went to the toy aisle. This was a huge mistake, the people were blocking each other, the aisles were packed and there were toys strewn everywhere. I could not tell what any of the prices were. I could not believe this. After slowly shopping for a hour. I can honestly say there were not a lot of good buys. I can see how the whole stampeded thing happened. Walmart is not very organized at all. The cashiers have cash only signs, but many people were confused because they had gift cards, when they got to the head of the line the cashier would say, sorry we do not have gift cards. Luckily, I found a line that would do either type of transaction. I also saw that gas stations are now charging more for credit card transactions. Has anyone else visited their local Walmart and has a story to share about their experience?
Try working at Walmart during Christmas time. I used to do layaway! Ha Ha the lines would be from the back of the store all the way to the front and sometimes wrap back around. As a former employee nothing at that store surprises me anymore. =)
I actually boycott walmart. I don’t mean to sound all preachy or anything but they are singlehandedly shrinking our economy with the way they run imports and drive out small businesses.
