Tom Daschle to Listen to Health Stories

Published by nh2008 at 7:40 pm under Current Events, Health Issues Edit This

Today, I read that former Senator Tom Daschle who is now the new Health and Human Services secretary will be meeting with Americans to listen to their health stories. He will be meeting with Americans from December 15- December 31, 2008. This is a pretty innovative thing for Tom Daschle to do. Many people want this country’s health care system to be fixed. Many people do not have health insurance or have gone bankrupt due to their very expensive medical costs. The costs associated with health care have escalated significantly. A simple ride in an ambulance can cost from seven hundred to one thousand dollars. Many Americans delay going to the doctor because they cannot afford to pay the medical fees. I am surprised that Tom Daschle is working so hard when President Elect Barack Obama has not even taken office yet. I am very glad that he is so motivated and wants to do a great job to help the health care system get fixed.
