Obesity in Children

Published by nh2008 at 9:06 pm under Current Events, Health Issues Edit This

I read today that obese children have the arteries of middle aged people. I am not surprised. I mean children today eat so many junk food products. I know that when I was a kid, I ate chicken fingers, fudge rounds, swiss rolls, drank Mountain Dew and so many junk food items. Why do we eat this stuff? The answer is because it is boxed and very convenient. Everything that you find that is junk food can be microwaved or is ready made. We love convenience. I remember a line from Roseanne when Dan had a heart attack, she said Dan is the kind of man who eats a frozen Eggo while he’s waiting for his other one to pop up in the toaster. We are not a country that really likes to cook. I mean we eat so much fast food, and we eat a lot of junk food. This is what is causing child hood obesity. The way we can fix this is by adjusting nutrition in homes and schools. Children should eat a balanced diet. Obese children add to increases in health care costs. What do you all think should be done?
