The Dow went up almost 250 points

Published by nh2008 at 8:56 pm under Current Events, DOW, Economy Edit This

The Dow went up almost 250 points,248 points to be exact. Today President Elect Barack Obama held a press conference in Chicago, Illinois about the tough times facing the United States economy. The unemployment rate is 6.5% right now. Ford lost three billion dollars and will have to cut jobs in order to stay afloat financially. General Motors lost 4.2 billion dollars this quarter. The automobile industry has fallen on hard times. The unemployment rate is up four tenths of a point and we are in a recession. So you may ask yourself why did the Dow go up today? I think the answer is the fact that president elect Barack Obama held his economic press conference. Americans want to feel confident about the economy. Barack Obama’s take charge attitude is very imrpessive. I mean he has not even been elected a week and yet he is still taking care of business. What do you think about this news story?
